My build critque please
hey all lvl 20 monk here when a build design that i don't see many run with.
healing:15 (2+1)
protection 10 (1)
divine favor 10 (1)
rest of the points in whatever i have both attribute quests done.
1. healing breeze
2. mend ailment
3.shielding hands
4. healing touch
5. word of healing
6. heal party
7. vigorous spirit
8. restore life
the goal of this build is to try to do 2 jobs at once. i am trying to be a heal monk but also off protection that a prot monk does too. at one time i was using aegis over heal party to even out spike dmg, but when u come to mobs who degen your group can be quite the hassel. i have also found out with vigorous spirit, healing breeze, shielding hands, and every once in awhile healing touch i can solo most lvl 24 and up mobs 1 on 1. One of the only reasons i have healing touch equipped is for a good self heal. i normally have about 3 weapon sets i switch between at the moment. they include Wenslauss' Faith, Kepkhet's Refuge, and just recently i got healing ankh with +12 energy req9 healing with 20/20 for healing. its rather nice but i have no good wand/rod to go with it that is max dmg so normally i just stick with kepkhet's refuge. Basically my goal of this post is just to get the word out about this build i seem to do great with it there probably isn't to much i would change but i'm always open to suggestings if they are good ones. post away

theres no energy management, which is must for long battles...you run heal, but also protection, consider change some of skills and take protective spirit and energy management, then it could be nice balanced monk...but current form you run out of energy

i don't know about protective spirit every time i think about that spell i think of 55 monks. isn't the greater the hp people have the less effective this is? i can understand what your talking about with energy mangement. i just don't know what spell i could possibly take out without hurting me. i normally have a necro that feeds me when i low in my groups so i almost always around full mana.

either heal or prot. not both. if you do both you'll have less space for some sort of energy management. you can't always count on the necros to give you energy. if you run out during battle and the team dies you look like a fool and everyone thinks 'bad monk'. most groups will take 2 monks later in the game and if you're a healer throwing prot spells around you'll be stepping on the toes of the true prot monk. it's redundant and not efficient.
what's your secondary?

if you decide to go for heal only, here is my suggestion
Divine 16
heal 12
rest inspiration
1. Healing touch
2. orison
3. heal other
4. Energy Drain (e)
5. rebirth
6. inspired hex
7. Drain enchantment or breeze
8. Divine Boon
but if not energy drain unlocked then there should think this again

hmmm, i wuold use boon prot or heal, not boon heal becouse it may go to over healing.
And of course healer may have some prot spells (read: mend ailment, mend condition, aegis etc) and like 3 points in protection.
Good energy managements are insp hex, drain ench and so on....

I have grown to love inspired hex it is a must for most builds I consider it to be a great skill because auto recharge and provides hex removal which is great other than that my builds are nearly the same.

thanks for suggestion for inspired hex i picked that up so now my build includes.
1. healing breeze
2. mend ailment
3. shielding hands
4. inspired hex
5. word of healing
6. heal party
7. vigorous spirit
8. restore life
forgot to mention i use tat armor with major vigor rune also. and has one guy stated most of my spells rarely cost much so mana usually isn't a problem guess now that i got inspired hex i should be unstoppable in certain areas.

This is for PvE right? Get rid of Restore Life and place in Rebirth and remember to rez your allies AFTER battles not during.
